Leon Zhiqi Lai
Leon Zhiqi Lai is a Baltimore-based filmmaker and cinematographer currently pursuing an MFA in Filmmaking at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). His work spans narrative, documentary, and independent productions, with hands-on experience in directing, cinematography, lighting, editing, sound, and production.
Leon is drawn to grounded, human-centered storytelling, using careful observation, visual sensitivity, and collaboration to explore relationships, everyday moments, and the emotional details often hidden within ordinary life.
